Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless December 2, 2009
As Kevin arrives at Chancellor Industries, Katherine tells him about the IPO. Neil is concerned about Kevin’s trustworthiness. Kevin is grateful to Katherine for the opportunity and convinces Neil he will not let him down. He receives a call from Gloria asking him when he is going to start work at Chancellor. Kevin conveys to his mother he already has. Gloria and Jeff, realizing there is something big happening at Chancellor, invite Kevin to the Athletic Club for lunch, hoping to get the inside scoop. Later Neil confides to Katherine his concerns regarding Kevin, specifically Gloria. Katherine insists she is going to put all of her trust in Kevin.
Later at the Athletic Club Gloria tells Kevin how proud she is of him and Jeff begins the inquisition. Kevin, well aware of Jeff and Gloria’s intentions, tells the duo he will not snoop on their behalf and tells his mother she is certifiable.
JT meets Victoria at Crimson Lights where she tells him about the conversations she had with Heather and Nicholas. JT is interrupted by a call from his new boss Mr. McCall. She tells JT about Nick’s proposal and the IPO. JT seems reluctant about the deal and does not encourage Victoria. She becomes condescending and tells her husband she knows more about business than he does. She apologizes and JT claims he’s distracted by work. Neil arrives and asks Victoria if she is back at Newman. When she tells him she is lying low, he offers her a position at Chancellor, she declines.
Mac arrives at Lily and Cane’s apartment and tells them the embryo transplant is scheduled for tomorrow. Michael arrives with the contracts in hand. All goes well until Michael reads the custody clause. Lily assures Michael she wants Mac to be a part of their baby’s life. Michael advises to keep the clause in the contract and all three sign. After Mac leaves, Cane asks Lily to share with him her visions of their future. Lily truly believes her dreams will come true.
At Restless Style Billy and Chloe continue to work on the next issue. Chloe becomes appalled when she learns Billy is going to use the magazine to try to win back Mac. After listening to Billy’s pitch, she tries to convince him his plan is not going to work. She tries to explain to him the reason he and Mac broke us was because he was unsupportive of her choice to become Lily and Cane’s surrogate. Chance arrives and tells Chloe he has a treat for her. He asks Billy if Chloe can leave for the rest of the day and Billy agrees. Later Billy calls Mac and asks her to meet him. When she arrives Billy tells her about his plan to profile the pharmaceutical heiress on the next cover of Restless Style and Mac likes the idea. She tells him she just signed the papers for the surrogacy. He tells her Lily and Cane will be grateful to her regardless of the outcome and kisses her.
Chance brings Chloe back to the Chancellor Estate where he and Esther tell Chloe Chance will be receiving an accommodation and he asks Chloe to go with him. She is stunned Chance, with a little help from Esther, had Lauren send over a dozen dresses for Chloe to try on. Chloe is sincerely moved and tells Chance no one has ever done anything like this for her before. As Chance and Chloe prepare for the ceremony, he asks her to stand by his side during the photo session and she graciously accepts.
Back at Michael’s Kevin tells him about Gloria’s latest ploy. Michael is livid his mother would once again put Kevin’s future in jeopardy for her own gain. Michael, realizing Gloria will not give up until she gets what she wants, decides to point their interests away from the IPO. He invites the Bardwells to his apartment and tells them Chancellor Industries is planning to buy a tech company in Berlin. The Bardwells couldn’t leave fast enough to call their broker. Later Michael assures Kevin he no longer needs to worry about his mother.
As Katherine and Neil celebrate the SEC’s approval of the IPO, JT receives a phone call from Mr. McCall telling him the Chancellor IPO is official. Oh JT, what have you gotten yourself into?
