Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless December 9, 2009

 

 

Adam assures Sharon he is seeing her because he wants to be with her. When she questions his motives Adam asks if Nick suggested otherwise. He claims he has fallen hard for her, harder than he ever thought possible. He tells her all of the reasons he loves her and ensures they have nothing to do with Nick. He loves her because she never judged him and actually saw the good in him. After Adam pours his heart out, he becomes upset and leaves. Later Sharon’s mom arrives. She notices the flowers and asks who sent them. When Sharon states they are from someone new, Sharon’s mother is surprised she is already involved with someone else. She tells her mother she is happy but her mother is concerned she has rushed into yet another relationship. When she realizes Sharon is involved with Nick’s brother, she tells Sharon she is asking for trouble.

 

Nick arrives at Victoria’s and is concerned for his sister about the Restless Style article. Victoria admits she only has herself to blame. Nick, wanting to put the blame on Billy, thinks otherwise. Victoria notices Nick’s hand and asks what happened. When she realizes Adam was on the receiving end she encourages Nick not to let Adam get to him. Obviously, it is too late. Nick asks his sister about her marriage and she tells him things are worse than ever. He suggests time apart may be a good idea and offers Victoria a position overseas. He feels time apart may be the best thing for her and JT. He receives a call from Michael and leaves.

 

Billy brings Delia home to the Chancellor Estate where Chloe is still beaming about Chance’s accommodation. Chance receives a phone call from Riggs, the man who stabbed him, requesting he come to the jail. Chance leaves. Billy realizes Chloe has genuine feelings for Chance and seems happy for her, yet they continue to throw verbal digs at each other about their love lives. Billy feels Chance may not be as squeaky clean as everyone thinks. Later Chance arrives at the prison and learns the convict in question has escaped. He later tells Chloe and she is concerned about Chance’s safety. Chance does not understand why Riggs would call him.

 

Lauren meets Michael at Crimson Lights where he feels overwhelmed with his case load. Lauren is still suspicious of Ryder and is sure he knows more than he is telling. Michael is distracted by a call and Lauren approaches Ryder. She asks him why he disappeared from her home on Thanksgiving. She tells him she has tried to put her misgivings about him aside for Kevin’s sake but questions why he pled the fifth at his hearing. He tells her he is tired of the accusations against him. She warns him not to cause harm to anyone in her family. In the meantime, Michael receives a call from Adam’s attorney about the lawsuit. Adam enters and Michael asks him to reconsider. He tells Michael he can’t let this go because of Nick’s tactics towards him professionally and personally. Michael suggests he call Victor to let his father know he is suing his company. Adam makes the call.

 

Later Lauren returns to Fenmore’s to close up. She thinks she sees Ryder leaving but is not sure. Inside Daisy continues to fill Lauren with praise and she buys into it. Daisy leaves and Lauren begins to lock up. Suddenly all of the lights go out in the store and Lauren spots a black rat. Daisy returns, claiming she forgot her scarf, and suggests maybe the person who sent her the dead rat is also responsible for this. Lauren mentions Ryder and Daisy claims he freaks her out.

 

Victoria arrives at Restless Style and tells Billy he is messing with the wrong Newman. She claims he does not care whose lives he ruins for the sake of profit and promises him there will be paybacks.

 

Michael meets with Nick and tells him he encouraged Adam to call Victor to let him know about the lawsuit. Victor persuaded Adam to drop the suit in exchange for a working partnership with Nick. Michael reminds Nick this is what his father wanted all along.

 

Later Adam arrives back at Sharon’s and passionately kisses her.
