At the Chancellor Estate Chloe tells Chance Billy is going to be upset with her when he learns she revealed his source to the judge. Chance takes her to Daniel’s party to distract her.

Lauren and Michael enjoy a belated anniversary dinner at the Athletic Club and are photographed by someone at another table. As the couple reminisces about their life together, Lauren tells Michael the only other time she felt this unsettled was when Sheila was after her. Michael reminds her she is dead.

Jack meets Emily at Crimson Lights. Phyllis interrupts and invites Jack to Daniel’s party. Amber wants to go with Phyllis to pick up Daniel at the prison but Phyllis suggests she stay there to help with the preparations. In the meantime, Deacon is waiting outside and Phyllis tells him he will get the phone with the incriminating evidence back after he gets Amber out of town. Meanwhile Jack and Emily talk and reflect back to previous Christmases when they were children. She tells him unfortunately, as a therapist, the holidays are her busiest time of year. Jack realizes he wants to do something special for her and makes a call.

Chloe and Chance arrive at Crimson Lights to join the party. Daisy is surprised to learn Daniel is being released. Daniel arrives and all are thrilled to see him, especially his wife. Phyllis thanks all of their friends for their support and pays special attention to Amber. When Jack asks her what that was all about, she tells him she has had a change of heart.

Victoria pays Billy a visit in prison (the Genoa City jail has become a very busy place) and tells him he is getting everything he deserves. Billy reminds Victoria he is not responsible for her marriage falling apart. She tells him he is not a hero, but in fact a jerk hiding behind the first amendment. She tells him the Newmans are off limits when it comes to Restless Style but he insists they are front page news. After Victoria leaves the guard enters and tells Billy he has been released.

As Deacon is leaving the Athletic Club with a bag, Ryder arrives and asks where he’s going. He tells him he is going back to California. Ryder indicates his mother will not be happy. Deacon encourages Ryder to stand up to her. Ryder runs into Michael and he reminds him of the restraining order. Chance arrives and tells Ryder he needs to leave or he will be arrested. As Ryder is leaving he receives a text from his mother and realizes she is there.

Later Jack takes Emily to a winter wonderland surprise complete with ice skates. He tells her he is going to give her the spirit of Christmas. Jack and Emily enjoy an evening of skating together and Emily ultimately skates circles around Jack. He tries to convince her he is a one woman man and kisses her.

Back at Crimson Lights all continue to celebrate Daniel’s release. As Amber hugs her monster-in-law, Phyllis states Amber is the best daughter-in-law she could ask for. The newlyweds are unaware of Phyllis’s plan. Ryder arrives and all surprised to see him there since Kevin asked him to stay away. He claims he wants to make things right with Daniel. When he questions his involvement with Deacon, Ryder walks away. Kevin tells Ryder he needs to leave. As Ryder is leaving he discretely tells Daisy he thinks “she’s” in Genoa City. Phyllis asks Amber to get Daniel’s gift from her car. Daniel tells his mother it was worth going to jail to see her and Amber grow closer. In the meantime, per Phyllis’s orders, Deacon kidnaps Amber.

Back at the Athletic Club Lauren tells Michael she is convinced Ryder his hiding something. Michael agrees but would rather concentrate on his bride. Champagne arrives from an anonymous source and the couple sends it back.

After Billy summons Chloe to Restless Style she arrives along with Victoria. Billy thinks he was released from prison because the judge had a change of heart. Chloe realizes Billy is unaware she told the judge who Billy’s source was and knows she will pay the price for her decision. Victoria warns Billy not to go after her again.
