Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless January 5, 2010
Chloe admits to Chance she is looking for a challenge while they share coffee at Crimson Lights. They are interrupted by Chance’s boss and Chance asks if there are any leads on Riggs. The sergeant evades Chance’s questions and leaves. Chance questions Sid’s motives about not pursuing the case. He questions the EMT on duty the night he was stabbed as well as Heather but both decline to help him. In the meantime Jack approaches Chloe and asks her to be their wedding planner. She graciously accepts the assignment. Sid returns and is furious with Chance for spreading rumors about him. Chloe realizes all is not right at the GCPD and tells Chance to watch his back. Later at the Chancellor Estate Chance receives an email from Riggs claiming he is in trouble and asks Chance to meet him.
At the tack house Phyllis recalls the conversation she had with Nick telling him she hates him. Meanwhile Nick is preparing breakfast for her and lets her know they have the place to themselves. She tells him they cannot solve their problems with sex. She reminds him Sharon and Adam are still married and that is the real issue. Phyllis tells him last night convinced her he wants and needs her but reminds her husband his feelings for Sharon are intolerable. Nick claims the only feelings he has for Sharon is anger. He feels Sharon keeps repeating the same mistakes and he is concerned for Noah. Phyllis claims Sharon’s current crisis is the real problem between them. She tells her husband if he wants to rescue someone, he should rescue her. She tells him she realizes he thinks because she is strong she can handle anything. She tearfully tells Nick she can’t do this anymore, she claims she needs him and walks away.
Adam carries Sharon over the threshold and Noah greets them. Adam leaves and Sharon assures her son Adam took good care of her. She admits to Noah Adam means a lot to her and tells him about Adam’s proposal on Christmas Eve. Noah assumes his mother declined Adam’s offer. Sharon tells her son she and Adam eloped. As Sharon tries to assure her son she didn’t jump into the marriage, Noah tells her she waited all of six days. He reminds her of Adam’s past and tells his mother he is concerned about her safety.
Jack returns home as Paul is leaving. Emily tells Jack she is going to resign from Patty’s case. Both are unaware Patty knows about their engagement. Knowing their wedding will set back Patty’s recovery, Emily suggests they postpone the wedding. She tells Jack she is living Patty’s dream and feels guilty. Jack encourages her not to postpone the wedding. Emily leaves to meet with Patty.
Adam returns to the ranch. Ashley is glad to see him and congratulates him on his recent nuptials. She realizes Adam will be moving out and invites the newlyweds to move in with her. Jack arrives and Adam leaves. Jack tells Ashley about his recent engagement. She is happy for her brother and tells him his engagement was not nearly as long as Adam’s. Jack becomes livid as he learns of Adam’s and Sharon’s elopement. Ashley reminds Jack he and Adam have a lot in common but Jack doesn’t like the comparison. He leaves claiming he is going to put a stop to it. Emily arrives and asks Ashley to be her matron-of-honor.
At the psych ward Patty continues to stab Dr. Peterson’s/Emily’s picture. Realizing no one can know about her outburst, she hides the evidence. She wonder’s what Dr. P would do at a time like this and decides she needs to develop a plan. Dr. P. enters Patty’s room and Patty pretends she is glad to see her. Dr. P tries to convince Patty there are other doctors that can help her. Patty pleads with Dr. Peterson not to leave her. She assures Patty she will continue to work with her while she is transitioning to a new doctor. Paul arrives and Patty is visibly upset. He assures his sister everything will be fine. Later, Patty is brought her meds and pretends to take them. After the orderly leaves, she hides the medication behind her bed.
Noah arrives at the tack house and asks Nick why he did not tell him about his mother’s marriage. Nick encourages his son to live his own life and thanks him for looking out for Phyllis while he was preoccupied with Sharon. Phyllis overhears Noah tell Nick he is grateful for having Phyllis in his life and admires her strength. Noah leaves and Nick tells his wife they are not going to talk about Sharon. She has his undivided attention. He admits he takes her strength for granted and asks her to depend on him for a change.
Jack arrives at Sharon’s asking if the news of her marriage is true, she looks back at him with an attitude.
