Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless October 9, 2009

Colleen’s life is celebrated with a kaleidoscope of color. Kevin thanks Traci for allowing him to say goodbye to Colleen. Daniel presents her with a beautiful portrait of her daughter. Billy addresses the gathering by asking them not to cry for Colleen but honor her with smiles and laughter. Traci is consoled by the fact Colleen was able to help so many people by donating her organs. A sixteen year old girl has a new kidney, a father is able to see his children for the first time and of course Victor’s heart. Victoria arrives and asks to read a letter from Victor. He states he shares the Abbotts sorrow but is also filled with gratitude for allowing him to receive Colleen’s heart. He thanks them on behalf of himself and others to be Colleen’s living legacy. He will hold her forever in his heart. At the end of the service all of Colleen’s loved ones release their balloons to the heavens. A truly beautiful tribute.

Sharon’s mom meets her at the coffee house and tries to console her daughter. Sharon tells her mom she is certain her and Nick are not meant to be together. She is determined to take the baby’s ashes to the cabin alone. Doris calls Nick and updates him about Sharon’s plans. Nick leaves the memorial service to meet Sharon at the cabin. Later she is surprised and relieved to see him.

When Neil and Devon arrive at Lily’s to pick her up for the service both can see she is visibly ill. She has a fever and cannot attend. Later as Neil gives a beautiful tribute to the friendship Colleen and Lily shared, she is able to listen over the phone.

Meanwhile at the hospital, The Dr. tells Victor and Nikki he is happy with Victor’s progress. Later as Nikki and Victor are talking, he suffers a seizure.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless, October 5, 2009

When Nick returns to Genoa City Memorial Hospital Phyllis asks him about Sharon and the baby. She can tell by the look on her husband’s face something is seriously wrong. He tells her the baby was his child, not Jack’s and the baby died during childbirth. He told her he wanted to tell her about the baby’s paternity at the airport before she left for Switzerland but felt she already had enough to deal with taking care of Summer. Phyllis tries to console Nick and pleads with him not to shut her out. She reminds Nick of the commitment they made to each other at the airport.

Rafe visits Sharon at St. Mary’s hospital and tells her she is free to go home once she is discharged. Sharon talks to Cassie and asks her to take care of her baby sister. Holding a photo of Cassie and a Sonogram of Faith, she tells both her girls she loves them.

Jack tells Victor Traci has agreed to donate Colleen’s heart to him. He calls Victor a bastard and tells him he deserves to die but for Colleen’s sake he hopes he lives. Jack says a tearful goodbye to Colleen and apologizes for not being able to protect her.

As Victoria watches, J.T. visits Colleen and reminds her they were supposed to be together forever. He apologizes for not getting to the lake in time to help her. J.T. struggles with his guilt and says goodbye.

Billy is angry with everyone and expresses his frustration waving his fist at God in the chapel. Katherine enters and tries to convince him not to be angry. He needs to open up his heart and grieve for Colleen. She also reminds him his family needs him and he should be with them.

Nikki is elated to learn Traci has agreed to the transplant. She encourages Victor to keep fighting and presents a picture of what his future will be like surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Ashley enters and introduces Victor to his new daughter (granddaughter) Faith. As he tries to reconnect with her she becomes very distant. While the hospital staff is preparing Victor for surgery he tells his family he loves them. For the first time the “Black Knight” shows signs of sorry and remorse.

The Abbotts say a final tearful goodbye to Colleen and she and Victor are brought to the operating room for the transplant.

Abby tells the Newmans Colleen’s heart is a match for Victor. He assures Abby whatever decision Traci makes is fine with him. Nikki wants to talk with Traci again, but Victor asks her not to.

Adam visits his father and encourages him not to give up. He tells him Jack did not bring Ashley home while he was in surgery. He took her to a psychiatric hospital. He told his father he stood by Ashley’s side and helped her deliver their baby. Adam remembers Hope’s passing and tells his father if he looses him he will loose everything. Victor tells his deranged son he sees Hope’s “goodness” in him and is grateful he helped Ashley and the baby. Later when Adam checks in on Ashley she tells him she no longer wants to name the baby Hope after Adam’s mother but wants to name her Faith. Ironically the same name Sharon and Nick chose for their deceased (or so they think) daughter.

Nick visits Sharon at St. Mary’s Hospital and is devastated when she tells him their baby died during childbirth. She told Nick the Dr. told her the baby had severe birth defects. Nick wants to see the baby but Sharon already had her cremated. Sharon asks Nick if he would go with her to take the baby’s ashes to the cabin where she was conceived. Nick updates Sharon on Victor’s condition. She reminds him there is no longer any connection between them and he needs to focus his attention on his wife and daughter. Nick is still struggling to let go. In the meantime, Phyllis arrives at Genoa City hospital to check on her husband and father-in-law. She is surprised to learn Victor’s condition is so critical but not surprised at all that her husband is at his ex-wife’s bedside.

Traci is still conflicted about giving Colleen’s heart to Victor and Billy is bitter. He asks her how she can save the man that is responsible for taking Colleen’s life. Traci considers what Victor means to Ashley, Abby and her new niece. After much soul searching Traci asks Jack to give Victor the news about her decision because she cannot face him.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless October 1, 2009

Sharon wakes up in an unfamiliar hospital and demands to know where her baby is. Before Adam pays off Dr. Taylor and sends him on his way, he tells him to tell Sharon her baby died. He tells Adam he is the coldest person he has ever known. In the meantime, Ashley is recuperating from her faux delivery at Genoa City Hospital and is comforting the baby she thinks is her own. Jack receives word Ashley has been transferred to the hospital with his new niece in tow. He visits his sister and updates her on Colleen’s and Victor’s condition. She becomes visibly upset when she learns Victor may die. Jack assures her she is not responsible for any harm to Victor or Nikki.

The Newmans continue to support Victor at his bedside, he asks about Adam. All are unaware Adam stole Victor’s granddaughter and presented her as Victor’s daughter to Ashley. While their father lay in a hospital bed dying, Adam’s siblings confront him about his whereabouts. He becomes agitated and threatens Nick.

Jack pays the Newmans a visit and Victor is surprised to learn Colleen may be the donor they are looking for. He apologizes to Jack for putting his family in this situation. Later the Abbotts learn Colleen’s heart is a match for Victor.

As Ashley listens by the door, Nikki and Victor reflect back when they wed in her hospital room. He reminds her she is the heart and soul of their family. He tells her he felt no greater love than the love he felt for her.

Nick receives a phone call that Sharon has been transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. When he visits his ex-wife she tells him their baby has died.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless September 29, 2009

Michael visits Victor at the hospital to check in on his client and friend. When he is told Victor needs a transplant he suggests to the family they consider a designated donor option, where the loved one of a deceased person can specify who they wish to receive the donation. Later when Abby comes to see her father and is asked about Colleen, she tells the Newmans Colleen is an organ donor. Nikki realizing Colleen may be Victor’s only hope asks the Abbotts if they would consider giving Colleen’s heart to Victor.

Dr. Taylor meets Adam at the psychiatric hospital and examines Ashley just before the nurse was about to check the baby’s heartbeat. He assures her the pregnancy is fine. In the meantime, Sharon in an adjoining room goes into premature labor. The nurse asks Dr. Taylor to assist her. Sharon’s water breaks and is in active labor. Ashley starts to feel contractions as well and Adam tries to find Dr. Taylor. He is surprised to learn the other patient Dr. Taylor is attending to is Sharon Abbott. He convinces Dr. Taylor Sharon needs to have the baby there. Adam creates a diversion so most of the hospital personnel need to leave the building with Sharon in very real labor and Ashley laboring in her mind.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless September 28, 2009

Colleen’s loved ones come to terms with taking her off of life support. Her Dr. enters and notifies the Abbotts Colleen is an organ donor. Lily gives her best friend a heartfelt goodbye and tells Colleen they will be BFFs forever. She promises her she will fight her cancer and live life full enough for both of them.

Victoria tells Nicholas Victor needs a heart transplant. Nikki pleads with Victor not to give up. Later Nicholas meets Nikki in the chapel and she apologizes to her son for not being there when he needed her most. Both reflect back on Victor’s devious deeds but agree they love him and don’t want him to die. Later the Newmans continue to hold vigil at Victor’s bedside. The Dr. informs the family Victor is officially on the organ donor list but the list is very long. The chances of finding a heart in time are slim.

At the coffee house Jana tries to convince Gloria, Daniel and Amber the Terroni should be put in a museum where it belongs. Amber tells Gloria Deacon is working her and can’t be trusted. Daniel wants to give the painting to Deacon to finally free himself and Amber from Deacon’s tight grip. Cane calls Daniel to update him on Colleen’s condition. All four go to the hospital to say goodbye to Colleen.

In the meantime, Gloria meets with Deacon. She tells him she knows exactly where the Terroni is but it is going to cost him more than the amount they previously agreed upon. She informs him Daniel and Amber are at the hospital and have the painting with them. Deacon confronts Daniel at the hospital and all are asked to leave. As Deacon is leaving he sees Victoria and asks her about her father. J.T. witnesses the two talking.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless September 25, 2009

Traci did not receive the news she way praying for when a second opinion confirmed Colleen’s diagnosis. She struggles terribly with the decision she needs to make until Lily suggests Colleen would not want to spend the rest of her life hooked up to life support.

As Victor is in surgery, Adam tries to calm down Ashley. Nikki appears and Ashley fears she is seeing a ghost. Jack encounters his sister and is confused when she tells him she killed Nikki when Jack just had a conversation with her. He takes her back to the Abbott mansion and convinces her she needs to commit herself to a psychiatric hospital.

Nick feels Sharon needs to hear the news about Victor directly from him. Sharon is upset to learn about Victor but is more surprised her ex-husband didn’t phone her with the news. She insists to Nick he needs Phyllis to be his confidant and not her. She told him he needs to call his wife and tell her to come home.

Victoria is relieved to see her mother at the hospital. Victoria asks Nikki why she suddenly called off her engagement to Paul and left without saying a word to anyone but Victor. Victoria then remembers what her father said to her about Nikki and convinces her mother to stay. Victor awakens from his surgery and is greeted by Nikki.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless September 24, 2009

Gloria interrupts Kevin’s plan by showing up at the bank in Detroit. The manager knows something is awry when there are two Mrs. Tom Fishers wanting access to the safety deposit box. Kevin convinces the manager Gloria is his grandmother. Gloria eventually buys into Kevin’s plan and all exit the bank with the Terroni in tow.

Paul finds Nikki at a retreat in the Rockies. He tells her the deranged Mary Jane is in fact his sister Patty. Victor was behind her hidden identity and plastic surgery as another ploy against Jack. He tells her Victor was shot but is recovering. Nikki is surprised her loved ones were worried about her, she wrote them frequently. Paul told her no letters were ever received. She was reluctant to return to Genoa City until she contacted Nicholas while Victor was suffering heart failure.

Traci finds false hope when Colleen moves her hand. All try to convince her it was just a reflex, there is no brain activity. I really wish they would wrap up this storyline soon, it is heart breaking.

When Katherine questions Jill about why she is working as a manicurist, Jill informs her she lost all of her wealth. Katherine is surprised Jill didn’t seek employment in the corporate world. She wants to know Jill’s real reason for wanting to go back to the place in their relationship they started at. As Katherine leaves she gives Jill a check to cover the real estate taxes she owes and then some.

Victor awakens from his surgery and asks about Colleen. Victoria tells him her diagnosis. Ashley apologizes to her niece for not being able to stop the tragic events that took her life. She visits Victor and confronts him. His love for her was not enough to stop him from bringing down the ones she loves. She tells him she was planning on leaving him before she knew he was shot. Her accusations are devastating and cause Victor to have heart failure.

Today’s Episode of The Young and the Restless September 22, 2009

As the Newmans’ are told Victor survived the surgery and is in stable condition, the Abbotts learn Colleen is brain dead. Traci continues to look for false hope for her daughter. Jack is infuriated Victor will live and Colleen, his innocent niece, will die.

Adam joins his step-siblings at Victor’s bedside. Nick makes it quite clear he is not welcome. Adam visits with his father and tells him once he recovers his nightmares will begin all over again. He encourages his father to live so he can bring him down. Later Ashley visits Victor. As she starts to speak with him she hears him say, “Nikki”. In the meantime, Nikki appears in a remote hotel room and is address by the name Ms. Reed.

Gloria tells Kevin how she lost all of her money and asks her son to partner with her to regain her wealth. Kevin wants no part in his mother’s plan, but Gloria knows how to get to her son and lays a guilt trip on him. Daniel returns from Detroit without the painting. The only person allowed access to Tom’s safety deposit box is Gloria. The “Three Musketeers” come up with a plan to enlist Gloria’s help without her knowing what the prize actually is.

Today’s Episode of The Young and the Restless September 21, 2009

Victor tries to convince Patty if she shoots Jack she will go to prison for a very long time. She refuses to listen to Victor any longer, turns and shoots him three times in the chest. Patty takes off. Jack tries to help the fallen “black knight” but a semi-conscious Victor tells Jack to help Colleen. Paul and J.T. find the victims at the lake. Paul chases after his sister Patty. J.T. tends to his father-in-law while Jack calls for help.

Ashley goes back to the ranch and tells Adam she is leaving Victor for good. As she is packing Adam tries to convince her to stay for the sake of the baby. She writes Victor a lengthy Dear John letter accusing him of manipulating her and her family to feed his vendetta against Jack. As she is about to leave, Billy enters and tells her about the shooting.

Traci and Steve try to come to terms with Colleen’s diagnosis. She is unable to breath on her own and needs to be put on a ventilator. They are also told her brain may have been deprived of oxygen for too long and she may be brain dead. The Dr. tells the Abbott family to prepare themselves for the worse.

When Paul finds Patty he convinces her she needs to turn herself in and get the help she needs. He calls Chance and makes arrangements to meet him at the police station. A heart wrenching goodbye is shared between a deranged sister and helpless brother.

As Victoria and Nick view their father’s bullet laden body, Victoria feels guilty about the things she said about her father earlier that day. Nick tries to convince his sister not to. He tells her although their family has issues, he is still glad they have each other. Victor tells his children he loves them. He also admits to them he lied to Nikki when she said she still loved him. He regrets not telling her he feels the same.
