Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless November 16, 2009

 

 

Today on The Young and the Restless Chloe continues to wear her Florence Nightingale cap and takes care of Chance. They return to the Chancellor Estate where he tells her she is the only one he wants making a fuss over him. She offers to play cards with him and he agrees as long as they play for information. He asks her what her perfect date would be and she replies she is having it right now. Chloe cozies up to Chance and she tells him about the moment she realized she wanted to be a fashion stylist. Chance tells her he never had any interest in fashion and hopes she does not want to redesign him like she redesigned Billy. She assures him she never told Billy what to wear and reminds him she is over Billy.

 

At the Athletic Club Jack assures Dr. Peterson the reason he asked her on a date was to get to know her better. She is clearly unsure of Jack’s motives and leaves. Later Paul arrives and tells Jack about Patty’s recent threats. Paul is distraught by his sister’s condition. Jack tells Paul he will do everything he can to help her.

 

Back at Genoa City Memorial Lily and Cane are happy Mac will carry their baby but are concerned about what Mac had to give up. Dr. Peterson enters and Lily introduces her to Mac. Dr. Peterson is surprised to learn the couple has found a surrogate so fast. Mac and Dr. Peterson leave to get to know each other better. Billy arrives and meets with Lily alone. She tells him the situation between he and Mac breaks her heart and she can see how much they still love each other. Billy tells her in Mac’s eyes love is not enough. Mac continues her conversation with Dr. Peterson about the surrogacy. Dr. Peterson emphasizes to Mac she needs to think about what this decision will do to her life. She tells Dr. Peterson about her previous miscarriage and her recent break up with Billy. Dr. Peterson reminds Mac about the issues of attachment, and after hearing what Mac has to say, states she feels Mac may not be a good candidate for surrogacy. Mac replies the decision has already been made. Dr. Peterson asks her how she will feel if something happens to Lily and emphasizes she seriously needs to consider the possibility. She tells Mac once she has made up her mind to let her know and they will continue their sessions. Later, in the hallway, Cane tells Mac they are grateful for her offer and are sorry her decision has cost her Billy. Back in Lily’s room, Billy tells her he can’t get past the thought of Mac carrying Cane’s baby. She tells him to find Mac and make things right.

As he leaves Lily’s room, he sees Mac and Cane embrace.

 

Daisy meets Eden at Crimson Lights to study. Daisy tells Michael about Daniel and Amber’s sudden wedding and Michael leaves to meet Lauren there. Ryder enters and asks Eden how to fit into his new family. Eden reminds Ryder he hasn’t given people enough reason to trust him. Later Paul and Dr. Peterson share a cup of coffee and discuss Patty’s condition. Paul tells her Jack has offered all of his resources to help his sister. As Paul advocates for Jack he tells Dr. Peterson how much he thinks Jack has changed from the person he used to be.

 

On the rooftop the wedding festivities continue. Nick and Michael arrive. Daniel and Amber share their first dance to country music and all join in a Square Dance. Murphy gives a heartfelt toast to the happy couple and all raise their glasses to them except for Phyllis, she raises her bottle. Nick tells Daniel how proud he is of him and suggests everyone open their hearts to love. As Katherine and Kevin share a dance, Katherine offers him a position at Chancellor Industries and he graciously accepts. Daniel and Amber realize they are running low on champagne and leave to restock. Jana notices a gift addressed to Lauren. As Lauren opens the box she finds a live rat inside. The group does not want the newlyweds to know about the horrific gift and dispose of the rat. As the bride and groom reappear bearing champagne, their guests decide it is time to go. Amber is thrilled nothing bad happened at their wedding and Daniel is happy to have his bride to himself.

 

Later Phyllis and Nick return to the rooftop to retrieve her coat. He tells her he is proud of her because she did not try to stop the wedding. He offers to take her to dinner and she is grateful that he is trying to get her mind off of the wedding.

 

Back at the Chancellor Estate Chloe and Chance begin to kiss. Billy walks into Chance’s bedroom and the couple asks what he is doing there. He claims he is looking for Delia. Meanwhile Mac returns home and Katherine tells her about the wedding. She can tell her granddaughter is upset and asks why. Mac tells her she and Billy broke up. Billy appears and Katherine tells him to leave.

 

Dr. Emily Peterson rejoins Jack at the Athletic Club. Phyllis arrives with Nick and she is ballistic Jack is enjoying Dr. Peterson’s company. Nick intervenes and Jack apologizes to Emily for Phyllis’s behavior. Emily asks Jack if his offer still stands and Jack assures her it does.

 

Back at Crimson Lights Lauren and Michael try to guess who would send Lauren the package. As Lauren sees Ryder she feels she has a good clue.

 

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless November 13, 2009

 

 

As Billy and Cane continue to argue about Mac’s surrogacy at Jimmy’s Bar, Billy tells Cane he can go to hell. Mac tells Billy he has crossed the line and is unforgiving. He tells her having an unbreakable tie to Cane for the rest of their lives is unacceptable. She tries to explain to him that being a surrogate will bring meaning to her life. Billy is concerned about Lily’s future, he fears if something happens to her Mac will be more than a surrogate to Cane’s baby. Mac realizes how different they are and questions if they can build a life together. She realizes they are not the same people they were six years ago and feels it is time to end their relationship. She leaves and Billy is distraught.

 

At the psychiatric hospital Paul asks Dr. Peterson for an update on Patty. She encourages him not to give up on his sister. Paul visits Patty and shares with her an old family photo album. She tells him she will show it to Jack when he gets home. Paul and Patty continue to reminisce about their childhood and she tells him he is her hero. Patty suddenly has flashes of Dr. Peterson with Jack and tells Paul she does not want to hurt him.

 

 

While Jack is leaving a message for Dr. Peterson at the Athletic Club, a frantic Phyllis approaches him about Daniel and Amber’s June wedding and pleads with Jack for his help. Phyllis starts to describe Amber’s past to Jack and he gives her a look to remind her of her own past. He tells her he will not interfere with Daniel’s plans and she should do the same.  Later Dr. Peterson arrives and tells Jack in order to help Patty he needs to stay away. She suggests he can help her by buying her a drink and Jack obliges. He tells her he was an equal opportunity jerk when he was married to Patty and a rotten husband. She asks him what changed him. He tells her his father’s death and the end of his last marriage. He is concerned about Billy’s future, he sees his old self in his younger brother. Jack offers to buy Dr. Peterson another drink but she declines. She tells him she is impressed Jack realizes the person he was and has taken action to make changes. He asks her for another date.

 

On the rooftop Katherine is greeted by Daniel and Amber as they finalize their wedding plans. Katherine offers her help and they ask her to officiate the ceremony. Amber calls Lauren in desperate need of a dress and Lauren comes prepared.

 

At Crimson Lights Daniel tells Kevin and Jana about the sudden change of plans for his wedding. Both are happy but Jana is concerned Daniel and Amber are marrying on Friday the 13^th. All leave to return to the rooftop. Gloria arrives and Ryder tells her he wishes he knew his own mother. He understands why she has doubts about him considering he was raised by Tom. Deacon enters and Ryder discretely tells him about Amber’s upcoming nuptials. Phyllis arrives and Deacon passes the information along to her. Later Ryder tells Gloria Kevin is lucky to have her. He asks her to cover for him at the coffee house and she reluctantly agrees. She is surprised to see Deacon is still in Genoa City.

 

Lily is still recuperating at Genoa City Memorial. Cane arrives and she gives him the good news she will be discharged tomorrow. She is excited about the prospect of becoming a mother but Cane suggests she not get her hopes up and tells her about Billy. He assures her if Mac changes her mind they have other options. Later Mac enters and tells the couple all is good to go.

 

Back on the rooftop, the stage is set for the wedding. Being escorted by Murphy, Amber enters. As Katherine begins to officiate the ceremony, a winded Phyllis arrives and asks Daniel to think about his sudden decision. Amber makes a vow to her future mother-in-law stating Daniel will always be first in her life and tells her she and Daniel are each other’s best friends. Lauren intercedes and encourages Phyllis to stay and accept her son’s decision. Katherine continues with the ceremony and assures the couple she has no doubts they belong together. As Amber tells Daniel she is grateful he has hung in there, Phyllis realizes her son is marrying the younger version of herself. Daniel tells Amber she is his world and assures her they will always be together. Katherine pronounces them husband and wife and all celebrate except for Phyllis. Someone was watching the ceremony from afar with a set of binoculars which later fell.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless November 5, 2009

Lily is happy to receive her father’s blessing, yet Neil is concerned she is trying to do too much. As Cane and Lily prepare dinner together Neil realizes Lily is running a fever. The ever-attentive husband rushes her to the hospital.

At the Chancellor Estate Chloe tells Chance she thinks he’s over thinking things when it comes to his father and Nina agrees. She asks her son to give his father another “chance” but he refuses.

As Jill and Paul are discussing the prospect of finding Katherine’s daughter at the Athletic Club, Katherine arrives and is surprised to see them together. She tells Jill she is about to meet with Neil regarding Chancellor’s recent deal and the ladies leave together. Later Paul meets Nina. She is concerned about Chance’s anger regarding his father. She asks Paul how his relationship with Heather developed after she learned he was her father. He tells her they are still working on their relationship but concedes that walking away from her when she was a baby was the worst decision of his life. He encourages Nina to give Phillip and Chance time to develop a relationship. The conversation turns to Nina’s screenplay about Katherine’s memoirs. She admits she has writer’s block because she cares about the characters in the story. She also has the idea to find Katherine’s missing daughter. Chloe enters and Nina makes it clear she does not like her. Paul reminds Nina of the conversations between herself and Jill about Phillip. Nina tells Paul the difference being she loved Phillip. He tells Nina he thinks Chloe really cares about her son.

At Jimmy’s Bar Billy receives a phone call from another advertiser pulling out of Restless Style. He tries to rally-up his staff at a meeting at the bar to get them focused on the next issue. Mac suggests a positive story for Restless Style. Chloe doesn’t like the idea, but Billy begins to look for an everyday hero. Chance arrives and is surprised to see Billy and Chloe there. He doesn’t believe Chloe when she tells him they just finished a Restless Style staff meeting and he leaves.

As Jack makes a call from Crimson Lights allocating Jabot’s advertising budget elsewhere, Dr. Peterson enters. She tells Jack about her recent job offer and tells him she is not for sale. Jack tells her the foundation is looking for someone non-judgmental and therefore she does not fit the bill. He realizes his actions many years ago hurt Patty and is remorseful. Jack tells her he has nothing to do with Genoa City University’s hiring practices, he only made a phone call. She admits if it wasn’t for him she would be very interested in the job. He tells her he thinks she may be the only one to get through to Patty and asks her not to take into consideration her ill feelings towards him when she makes her decision. She receives a phone call from Dr. Lambert and excuses herself. Later Billy enters, thinking Dr. Peterson is Patty, he tries to protect Jack. Chance tries to arrest her. Jack intercedes and convinces them the woman in question is not Patty. Jack later tells Dr. Peterson his brother acted without thinking when he mentioned Patty in the Restless Style article. She asks if it is true he asked Billy not to mention Patty in the article and Jack nods with reassurance. She tells Jack she has accepted the job at GCU. Later Billy receives a phone call and Chance overhears the conversation. He learns there in fact was a Restless Style staff meeting at Jimmy’s and feels bad he did not believe Chloe. She later meets him at Crimson Lights and he apologizes for not believing her.

Back at the Jabot board room Neil tells Katherine and Jill the preliminary research he’s done looks promising. They are concerned how much stock Jack will purchase and yet continue with their plans for the offering. Neil receives a call from Cane telling him about Lily. He frantically arrives at the hospital and the news is not good. Lily’s body has over responded to the chemotherapy treatments and she has spiked a fever. Her fever continues to climb.

In the meantime Jill shows concern for Cane considering Lily’s crisis. Katherine reminds her you don’t have to be blood to be family. She tells Jill she can always rely on her. Jill receives a call from Neil. Realizing the love Cane has for his daughter, he tells Jill he thinks Cane needs her.

We love the idea of Katherine and Jill reconnecting and hope the writers of The Young and the Restless will continue on this path. Who do you think Katherine’s daughter will be? There are several suspects but we would love to see the preverbial DNA test be wrong and have Jill be Katherine’s daughter once and for all. Both of Faith’s mothers bond today on The Young and the Restless. At the chapel Ashley finalizes her plans for Faith’s christening and Sharon prays to her daughters telling Faith she will hold her in her arms one day. She tells Cassie how much she misses her and promises her girls she will get through her grief. Meanwhile Adam arrives at the chapel. Sharon is surprised to learn Adam is going to be Faith’s godfather. She asks him if Victor is happy with the news. He tells her he hasn’t seen his father in a few days. She encourages him to visit Victor at the hospital. Later Ashley offers Adam a ride home. He tells her Sharon suggested he visit Victor. Ashley is surprised to learn Adam and Sharon have become friends.

Back at Victor’s hospital room Dr. Peterson introduces herself to Jack and Victor. Jack is shocked by the resemblance to Mary Jane and Patty. He accuses Victor of copying Patty’s Dr.’s face when he paid for Patty’s transformation. Victor asks Dr. Peterson why she is in Genoa City. She tells him she came to help Patty. She assumes Victor is the reason Patty suddenly vanished from Minnesota. She assures Victor he will not be able to control her. Victor tells Dr. Peterson he will have her licensed revoked for her inability to know how dangerous Patty was. Victor asks her if she will be involved in Patty’s treatment and she assures him she will. Later Victor tells Paul to get in touch with Dr. Peterson. He wants Paul to tell her he will pay her salary and living expenses while she is treating Patty. Victor claims he wants to help Patty. Paul is certain Victor’s generosity is to ease his guilt and demands a confession. None is forthcoming.    

Adam enters Victor’s room and is surprised to learn there is another woman roaming around Genoa City that looks exactly like Mary Jane Benson. He feels in his own deranged mind he would not want to be her. Adam tries to console Victor by letting him know his past actions will be forgiven like his own. Victor becomes angry with his son and tells him he has not yet earned his father’s trust, he has only just begun. Looks like Adam has a steep mountain to climb in Victor’s eyes.

Mac runs into Chance at Crimson Lights. He is buying cannolis to bring to Chloe. Mac is frustrated with the relationship Billy continues to have with Chloe. Chance tells Mac Chloe will always be a part of Billy’s life. She tells Chance Billy’s plans to buy Restless Style. Chance is stunned because Chloe has not said a word. Neither Chance nor Mac thinks it’s a good idea for Billy and Chloe to work together. Mac is happy Billy has found a productive passion in his life (that is what trust funds and a rich sister will buy you). As the couple shares their grievances about their own lives, Billy calls and asks Mac to meet him at Restless Style. Chance calls Chloe but she is still mum about her new boss.

At Restless Style Phyllis is starting to have second thoughts about selling the magazine. Nick reminds her how excited they were when they started Restless Style. He feels since the original partners have moved on she should do the same but he will support whatever decision she makes. Billy arrives with the check in hand and Phyllis develops cold feet. Nick tells her the only reason she should keep the magazine is if it is still her passion. She realizes it’s time to pass the torch and accepts Billy’s check. She calls an impromptu staff meeting and introduces them to their new boss. She tearfully thanks her staff for their dedication and hard work. Billy asks the Newmans to stay and celebrate but they decide to leave and celebrate on their own at the Athletic Club. Mac arrives bearing a celebratory bottle of champagne. Billy addresses his staff and invites them to celebrate with him. Chance enters and Chloe is surprised. She claims she was going to tell him about her new boss but could not find the time. Chance tells her nothing can happen between them while she is still hung up on Billy. He tries to convince her in Billy’s eyes she is not the one for him. She looks over at Billy while he is sharing a celebration kiss with Mac.

At the ranch Sharon brings Ashley a box of items she bought for her own daughter. Ashley is grateful to receive the gifts. One of the items is a small charm bracelet with the name Faith engraved on the charm. Ashley feels although their daughters share the same name Sharon should keep the bracelet. As Sharon is leaving she hears Faith’s cry.

Later at the Athletic Club Jack meets Dr. Peterson. She asks Jack how he met Mary Jane Benson. He told her he met her at Jabot. She tells Jack everything she knows about him she learned from Patty. He said that was the boy he once was, not the man he is now. He tells her he is not proud of the person he use to be. She tells him she believes him and is sorry about what has happened to Patty.

So fans of The Young and the Restless, what do you think Phyllis’s new venture will be. We know Genoa City’s favorite red head can’t stay idle for long. Maybe she will run Newman while Victor is away. How long do you think it will take Jack to make a move on the beautiful and hopefully sane Dr. Peterson?  Our bet is by the November sweeps. Today’s recap of The Young and the Restless October 21, 2009

Today was an enticing day of cocktails and coffee on The Young and the Restless. Billy runs into Jack at Indigo and Jack is aware Billy is having trouble acquiring financing for his new deal. Billy finally tells Jack of his plans to buy Restless Style. He tries to convince Jack he is more than qualified to run the magazine. Jack is not so sure and still refuses to give Billy access to his trust fund. Billy is disgruntled by the lack of support from his big brother.

Katherine and Jill arrive and need to discuss Jabot business with Jack. Jabot’s fourth quarter earnings do not look good and the ladies are concerned. Katherine decides to reinstate Jill at Jabot with both Jack and Jill sharing control. Jack is not happy with Katherine’s decision. Katherine leaves and Jill asks Jack for a status update concerning the company. He tells her about a P.R. agency he has retained to help restore customer faith in Jabot. She is happy with his choice but starts to dig a little deeper. Jack is interrupted by a phone call and Jill tells him they will pick up their conversation tomorrow at the office. She then calls the P.R. agency and issues her first press release, “Jill Abbott is back at Jabot, right where she belongs”.

Ashley visits Victor at the hospital and tells him the deed to the ranch has been transferred to her. Victor seems happy his daughters will be raised there. She then tells him Faith’s christening will be tomorrow. He becomes irate because she originally told him she planned to have the christening in a few weeks and he was looking forward to attending. She tells him she needed to move it up because Traci is ready to return to New York and Traci is going to be Faith’s godmother. Victor is still upset and cannot understand Ashley’s attitude. She explains to Victor her attitude is the result of his actions. As Ashley continues to vent her frustrations to Victor, Billy enters and tries to calm her down. Victor reminds them of the surgery he is recovering from and tells them to leave.

Paul runs into Nikki at Crimson Lights. He tells her he is on his way to visit Patty at the mental hospital and feels her diagnosis is grim. He still feels guilty he was not able to help his sister. Nikki is still in denial about Victor’s involvement in Patty’s transformation. She is also surprised to learn Victor tried to track her down the night she left Genoa City. Later Traci enters and asks Nikki about Victor’s recovery. She is glad to hear his health is improving. Nikki thanks Traci for her generosity and bravery. Traci encourages Nikki to think long and hard before she gets involved with Victor again. Later Katherine meets Nikki at Crimson Lights and Nikki questions Victor’s intentions now that he is going to recover.

The “brunette” Patty visits the real Patty at the psych ward. Patty refers to her twin as Dr. Pete. She is thrilled to see her former psychiatrist. Patty is convinced her and Jack are married and her padded cell is their new home. Dr. Pete is shocked to see that Patty’s appearance is her own. Patty tells Dr. Pete about her marriage to Jack. She tries to convince Patty she is not married to Jack and Patty becomes angry. Paul enters and is surprised to see the brunette version of his sister standing next to her. Patty introduces Dr. Pete to Paul. Paul asks to speak to the Dr. privately and Patty offers to make everyone tea in her padded cell. Dr. Pete re-introduces herself to Paul as Dr. Emily Peterson from Minnesota. Both want to know how and why Patty transformed herself physically into Dr. Peterson. Paul tells her of his suspicions about Victor’s involvement and also updates her on Patty’s actions in Genoa City. Later Patty waits for Jack to come home for dinner.

Billy takes Ashley home. He is glad to see his sister is the new proprietor of the Newman Ranch. He then asks her to invest in Restless Style. Feeling confident about her brother, she agrees. He assures her she will be proud of him.

Paul and Jack enter Victor’s hospital room. Paul tells both men he has someone he would like them to meet. Dr. Peterson enters the room and both Jack and Victor are speechless.

We are glad to see The Young and the Restless is living up to its’ name during the last week or so. For the longest time we renamed the show, “The Dark and Deranged”. We really want to know what the fans think. Please post a comment and let us know.
