J.T. fans, remember Thad Luckinbill is scheduled to appear on CSI: Miami tonight at 10:00 PM, EST on CBS.

Sharon moves into the Carlton home and Jack is happy she is adjusting. As he helps her unpack he finds the family portrait Cassie made when she was a little girl. Sharon convinces Jack she has learned to move on and encourages him to do the same.

Victor’s condition improves and is told he will be released from the hospital soon. Even in soap land they don’t keep you in the hospital long. He asks Nikki what has been going on in her life and wants to know where she went the night she left him and Genoa City. She told him she went to a retreat in Colorado. He asked her if she found peace there and she confirms she did. He inquires to weather she will be returning, she tells him she is staying.

Adam continues his wicked ways at Newman. He later gives Victoria the analysis she requested and asks her to meet him halfway concerning his work there. Later Nick suggests to Victoria she let the board members know the details of Victor’s health but she doesn’t agree. She is impressed with the results of Adam’s assignments and begins to advocate for him.

Ashley takes ownership of the Newman Ranch. She receives a phone call from a prospective divorce attorney. She tells him she wants to make sure her and her daughters are protected. Adam returns home and is greeted by Ashley. He introduces himself to Faith. He tells her he will never be able to fix things with her real mom but assures her Ashley will take good care of her. Jack enters and is livid Adam is holding Faith in his arms. He tells him to stay away from his niece. Adam leaves to return Noah’s school work to Sharon. Ashley tells Jack she is divorcing Victor and he tells his sister he is sorry. He is surprised to learn she is planning on living at the ranch. She reminds him when Victor and Nikki divorced years ago, she remained living at the ranch with the children and she and Victor lived at the penthouse. Yes, this is true but they were married more than a millisecond. She also tells Jack she invited Adam to live with her. He can see his sister is determined and tells Ashley if Victor doesn’t agree with her plans he is in for the second biggest fight of his life.

Victoria meets J.T. at the coffee house because he has something very important to discuss with her. She receives a phone call and leaves before J.T. can get a word in. He is not pleased his wife has put him off again. Later he tracks her down at Newman Enterprises where he tells her he has an opportunity for a job in New York City. He wants to discuss this with her before he agrees to the interview. She thinks he’s leaving her but J.T. wants her and Reed to move to New York with him. He thinks it is a good idea for them to have a fresh start away from Genoa City. She tells him her family needs her now. He reminds her that he and Reed are her family. They are interrupted by a man from the SEC and Victoria abruptly leaves. J.T. agrees to the interview.

Adam brings Noah’s work to Sharon. She invites him in to catch up. Unaware that Adam is responsible for stealing her baby and giving it to Ashley, she decides to befriend him. She tries to reassure Adam time will heal the wounds between him and Victor. He tells Sharon the last few years of his life have been about revenge until he saw Victor lying in a hospital bed. He tells her if he lost Victor he would loose everything. He no longer wants revenge to define him. She encourages him not to give up and to try to be a better person. He reflects back on the phone call he recently made to the SEC and tells Sharon that is easier said than done. Sharon tells him she knows what it’s like to be a Newman son, she was married to one. She tells him if Victor could forgive Nick for turning him into the Feds, he can forgive Adam too. He is shocked to learn Nick was the one responsible for Victor’s demise.

Nikki phones Ashley to update her on Victor’s condition. She asks her to bring Faith by to see him. Jack’s not happy about Ashley having any connection to Victor. She reminds Jack the Abbott-Newman war is over and they all lost! Jack is happy to see Ashley rid Victor from her life but can’t believe she’s letting Adam in.

Nick enters his father’s room and wants to talk about Adam. He is concerned about Adam’s involvement at Newman Enterprises. Victor does not share his son’s concerns. Ashley arrives at the hospital with Faith and is greeted by Nicholas outside of Victor’s room. She gives him her condolences over the loss of his own daughter and asks Nick if he wants to hold Faith. Neither is aware Faith is not Nick’s step-sister but is his and Sharon’s daughter.

Today’s Recap of The Young and the Restless, October 5, 2009

When Nick returns to Genoa City Memorial Hospital Phyllis asks him about Sharon and the baby. She can tell by the look on her husband’s face something is seriously wrong. He tells her the baby was his child, not Jack’s and the baby died during childbirth. He told her he wanted to tell her about the baby’s paternity at the airport before she left for Switzerland but felt she already had enough to deal with taking care of Summer. Phyllis tries to console Nick and pleads with him not to shut her out. She reminds Nick of the commitment they made to each other at the airport.

Rafe visits Sharon at St. Mary’s hospital and tells her she is free to go home once she is discharged. Sharon talks to Cassie and asks her to take care of her baby sister. Holding a photo of Cassie and a Sonogram of Faith, she tells both her girls she loves them.

Jack tells Victor Traci has agreed to donate Colleen’s heart to him. He calls Victor a bastard and tells him he deserves to die but for Colleen’s sake he hopes he lives. Jack says a tearful goodbye to Colleen and apologizes for not being able to protect her.

As Victoria watches, J.T. visits Colleen and reminds her they were supposed to be together forever. He apologizes for not getting to the lake in time to help her. J.T. struggles with his guilt and says goodbye.

Billy is angry with everyone and expresses his frustration waving his fist at God in the chapel. Katherine enters and tries to convince him not to be angry. He needs to open up his heart and grieve for Colleen. She also reminds him his family needs him and he should be with them.

Nikki is elated to learn Traci has agreed to the transplant. She encourages Victor to keep fighting and presents a picture of what his future will be like surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Ashley enters and introduces Victor to his new daughter (granddaughter) Faith. As he tries to reconnect with her she becomes very distant. While the hospital staff is preparing Victor for surgery he tells his family he loves them. For the first time the “Black Knight” shows signs of sorry and remorse.

The Abbotts say a final tearful goodbye to Colleen and she and Victor are brought to the operating room for the transplant.

As the sun rose in Genoa City, Colleen’s canoe capsized and she sank deep into the lake. She sees images of Lily begging her to fight for her life like Lily is fighting her cancer. She then sees Kevin who reminds her how her forgiveness changed his life. J. T. greets his former love and reminds her of the life they use to share together, he begs her to come back to him. Billy expresses his love for his niece and Abby tries to encourage her older sister to come back. Jack, Ashley and Victor appear to Colleen along with her grandfather John. He encourages her to move on and let go. As Colleen wonders about her future, her mom appears and reminds her how much she is loved. With that, her deceased father Brad takes her hand.

Jana and Kevin are stunned when they hear the news of Colleen’s abduction and both feel guilty about how they treated Colleen in the past. They feel helpless and hold a candlelight vigil for her at the coffee shop.

Jack confronts Victor about his involvement with Patty. Jack is convinced Victor is behind Patty’s return to Genoa City. A plot gone awry trying to bring down Jack. Victor and Jack share stories of each other’s previous misdeeds against each other. As Jack storms out of Victor’s home, waiving a picture of Colleen at summer camp, he realizes Colleen’s clue “cow” was not a reference to a dairy farm but the camp she attended every summer.

Paul and J.T. develop a plan of attack to try to find Colleen. Paul is riddled with guilt. J. T. tries to convince him his sister’s actions are not his fault. J.T. is determined to find Colleen. He does not want the message on his voicemail to be the last time he hears her voice.

Patty realizes Colleen is not coming back to help her and tries to escape herself, but is unable to do so.

Daniel sends Amber out to run errands for him. While she is gone Daniel paints “Will You Marry Me” on four separate canvases to surprise her when she gets home. Amber is ecstatically happy. Later Daniel leaves for Detroit where he hopes to find the original Terroni in Tom’s safety deposit box.

Victoria goes to Jack’s house to see if there is anything she can do in the search for Colleen. J.T. shoots her dagger eyes. She tries to console Paul. Paul feels if Nikki didn’t call of the wedding when she did, the fact that his sister is responsible for Summer’s poisoning would have been the end of their relationship. Victoria asks Paul if he agrees with J.T. that Victor is the one responsible for bringing Patty to town. Paul said he is certain of it. Victor leaves to confront her father.

While Ashley is walking the Newman grounds she finds a cell phone. She charges it and realizes it’s Nikki’s phone. She is certain she hit Nikki with her car the night of the accident. She tells Adam she will tell Victor when he gets home. In the meantime, Adam sorts through the Newman mail and hides a letter with Nikki’s return address on it.

A strange twist of fate occurs when Patty is bitten by a poisonous spider. Colleen frees herself from the ropes and tries to escape but Patty pleads with her to stay and help her.

Finally it’s not such a dark day in Genoa City. Daniel bursts into Amber and Deacon’s wedding ceremony with the safety deposit key in his hand. Deacon is intrigued, Amber is relieved. He swoops Amber off her feet and carries her out of the church, reminiscent of Dustin Hoffman in the Graduate. He brings her back to his apartment and they reconnect once again.

Billy and Mac realize they need to tell Lily about Colleen’s disappearance. Victoria sees J.T. at the athletic club and asks him if he has any news about her mother. J.T. explains to her Colleen has been abducted by Patty and that is his first priority right now. He insists he has no feelings for her other than friendship. He tries to convince Victoria she is the only woman in his life. Once again Victoria accuses her husband of being unfaithful, when in fact she is the one that slept with someone else. She can no longer deal with her guilt and confesses to J.T. that she slept with Deacon Sharpe. J.T. is livid and heartbroken. He leaves Victoria at the table alone.

After Jana reads Kevin the riot act concerning his new found brother, Kevin confronts Ryder about the details of his childhood and life with Tom. He realizes then Ryder and Deacon are partners and Ryder has been using Kevin all along. He is disappointed in himself, especially because he let down all the people that believe in him. In the meantime, Ryder’s mother visits him in jail.

Patty continues to keep Colleen hostage.

Once again Victoria and J.T. try to reconcile, but the subject of Victor is still tearing them apart. After J.T. tells Victoria that Mary Jane is Paul’s sister and he thinks Victor is responsible for bringing her to Genoa City and paying for her plastic surgery, she becomes angry with her husband yet again. Later Victor enlists the help of Jeff and Gloria to bring Mary Jane to him. In the meantime Paul is keeping Patty at the church where he feels they will be protected from the law.

Jill, the former CEO and current manicurist, is approached by Katherine and Murphy to come up with her half of the real estate taxes due on the Chancellor estate. They present her with a bill for $100,000 (and I thought my real estate taxes were high). She returns to the salon where she is currently working and asks for additional shifts. Gloria walks in to get a manicure and is obviously thrilled to see the powerful Jill Abbott knocked down a few notches. Just curious, how many manicures will it take to generate $100,000? Maybe I’m in the wrong profession.

Chloe and Billy meet to sign their divorce papers. Billy gets cold feet. Chloe is surprised. Mac will be furious.

When Neil and Devon arrive at Lily’s to take her to her first chemotherapy appointment, they are shocked to see Lily is already bald. Cane explains to them Lily felt if she took her own hair before the chemo did she would feel in control. She begins treatment at the hospital and is befriended by a man named Harry.

Kevin visits Ryder in jail and tells him he doesn’t believe his story that they are brothers which causes Ryder to second guess Deacon’s plan. Deacon convinces him to stick to the task at hand. Terrible Tom had the original Terroni before he died and Deacon is convinced Kevin or Gloria know where it is. Later Kevin visits Ryder again and requests a DNA test.

Deacon tries to convince Amber they will have a great life together as they reminisce about their past. Amber tries everything to delay the wedding but Deacon wants to marry her now.

Victoria, pictures in hand, confronts Colleen about seducing her husband. Colleen admits she wants J.T. but he graciously declined her offer because he loves his wife and son. Victoria is ballistic when she confronts her husband about his indiscretion and later shows up at Deacon’s hotel suite where she gets what she went there for.

Paul follows the blond Mary Jane to her room and discovers Mary Jane is in fact his sister Patty. He is devastated his sister is responsible for all of Mary Jane’s horrible deeds.

Victor meets with the private investigator he hired to follow J.T. He shows Victor the photo of Colleen and J.T. kissing. Victor shows the photo to Victoria and she confronts Colleen who admits she does in fact want her husband.

Jack has a heart-to-heart with his deceased father John. I love the scenes between Jack and John. Jack always reflecting on the man he has become, John still trying to help his misguided son. Don’t you wish you could have a conversation with a loved one that has passed? I do. Jack and Billy visit Ashley at the ranch to remember their father on the anniversary of his death. Ashley is still being haunted by the nightmare she had of Sabrina. She tries to hide it but to no avail. Both her brothers’ realize there is something seriously wrong with her. Jack requests the court to have his sister committed.

Ryder, now in jail for confessing to killing Balfour, calls Deacon to let him know his plan is in motion. Daniel is skeptical Deacon only wants Amber in return for his release and wants to know what his real agenda is. Since Ryder confessed to the murder, the charges against Daniel and Jana are dropped. Amber reluctantly accepts Deacon’s marriage proposal as he reminds her if she changes her mind he can put his plan back in place to frame Daniel.

Deacon’s partner-in-crime Ryder continues to work Kevin. Jana is suspicious of her husband’s new friend and voices her concerns. Jana and Daniel put their heads together to try to figure out why, if Deacon has the original painting, he would he want to set Daniel up? He later questions Victoria about Deacon. Meanwhile Amber is convinced she can help deal with Deacon to free Daniel and goes to his room. He stalls her at the door because Victoria is there. After Victoria and Deacon share a hot moment she is filled with regret and realizes this is not a good idea. When she leaves, Deacon calls Amber back where he tells her he hid the evidence she needs to free Daniel and she will never find it. Daniel is furious with Deacon and barges into his room. A fight erupts and security breaks up the fist a cuffs and Daniel is arrested again. Chance, being a newly appointed detective gets the charges dismissed for Daniel before they are filed. Seeing how desperate Amber is, Deacon claims he will help Daniel only if she marries him.

After J.T. takes Colleen home they reminisce about their past together. Colleen would like to pick up where they left off and they start to kiss. J.T. realizes this is not a good idea and stops things before they get started. Colleen doesn’t understand. He tells her he will always care for her and look out for her but he really loves Victoria. He told her when he thought Victoria was going to die, he couldn’t imagine a world without her in it. He knows they are having problems, but he loves the life he has with her and Reed. Colleen promises she will be more respectful of his feelings for his wife. Later, a remorseful Victoria and J.T. try to take the first step in healing their relationship.
